Waiting for her friends to arrive...
Wednesdays are sometimes a very slow day for us, and I expected this one to be as well.
Then I got a call that from school, telling me Jack had slipped and hit the back of his head on the blacktop at recess. They wanted me to come take a look since his head was bleeding. I think I acted calm but obviously I couldn't get off the phone fast enough!
Thankfully, the owie on the back of his head was similar to a skinned knee and there was no visible blood or cuts when I arrived 15 minutes later. He had a bad headache and was nauseated on the way home so I got an appointment to see his doctor and Jordon left work for it. By the time we were out of the waiting room Jack had eaten a snack and felt better, his Tylenol had kicked in. The checkup did not indicate a concussion so we were all very relieved.
Cuddles to start the day!
Charli's handiwork...
Lindy making Everett laugh...she is such a sweetie!
Jordon spent a very cold and wet day at work hosting the 2nd annual MLK Jr. Day Polar Car Wash. All the money raised goes to the city homeless education program. Last year $460 was raised, and this year they raised over $350.
Before Jordon left to wash cars though, he drove halfway to meet my sister and bring the Bellenghi kiddos to town for the day! I love having them here, the house is full and busy, just the way I like it!
Watching some of the inaugural parade...
Jack will never indulge Charli when she needs a prince, or a husband, so I was so happy when I saw her arm and arm with Luca, on a "date." Afterwards, Luca and Jack made letters for me (the Post Office) to sort out. This one was for Charli:
"This isn't working out."
More playing...
We always hate to see them go but it was a great, long day together and I am thankful for it!
Camera is still missing, so thankfully my husband's iPhone came to my rescue, picture-wise!
Jacky's journal entry, a bit hard to read. First he wrote:
A cupl days ago we did crayon rasist.
He meant "crayon resist," the art technique where you paint over a crayon drawing. He wanted to demonstrate on the left side of the page but when I told him "not tonight" he decided to write this instead:
12013
tomoro
the
odomma
nogyrashin
Which obviously means " Tomorrow is the Obama inauguration."
Lazy Saturday!
I thought my camera was in the car so I snapped these with Jordon's phone, and then still hadn't found my camera by that evening for Jake's birthday party. I was really uncomfortable not having my camera available! I'm sure this is a disorder of some kind.
Debby made Jake a delicious gluten free cheesecake!
Happy Birthday Jake!!!
I think maybe I should have had Jake sit down to get a picture with all 3 kids, right?
Student of the month! So proud of our Jack. He has been working really hard at school, and does extra homework each night. I am happy for him to have this recognition, he loved it! Thanks to my mom for coming over EARLY this morning so I could be at the assembly with Jordon. He looked for us near the end and seemed happy that we were still there. That made my day!
We adore Jack's teacher, Leslie Carroll. She is positive and encouraging and is a great fit for him. It is such blessing to have her as his first school teacher. He loves going to school each day and I'm sure it is because of the way she makes him feel while he is there. Well, that and the 3 recesses!
On his way to class, admiring his award.
We celebrated by taking Jack out for a date, just him, Jordon and I. We bowled at Linn Lanes and then had dessert at Limeberry.
